Whether we are engaged, married or in a long-term relationship, our busy work lives - often double-income ones in two very different occupations - can mean we and our partners are sometimes "like ships passing in the night". That is not good for us and it is not good for our employers either. Stable relationships make for personal well-being and also for steady work and quality output. There is a personal case for coming along to this exploratory workshop, and there is a business case too... Whatever your motivation, it will be a relaxing and refreshing evening. Come on along and enrich your relationship!
business matters is delighted to partner with hosting company PricewaterhouseCoopers under their Force for Good programme.
Some background from a Scotsman article 2 February 2007:
Dr Carol Craig, CE of the Centre for Confidence and Wellbeing, wrote:
"Research continually shows that two things matter to people. One is relationships. No wonder our happiness levels are challenged by a culture of long working hours, a high divorce rate and the proliferation of people living on their own.
"The second is meaning. Society encourages an obsession with the self and its own goals, whereas serving a goal larger than yourself gives real and lasting satisfaction."

Getting married in 2007?
A few people have indicated they are interested in doing the short Marriage Preparation Course which a church in London called Holy Trinity Brompton has so successfully developed. It is designed for any engaged couples. business matters may be able to offer it after work. Do please talk around about this possibility to any engaged couples you know. They don't have to have a church connection to benefit from this course - any engaged couple will get a lot out of it.
