Below is the text from a mailing which I sent out on Friday 20th March to our network – it contains some links to resources that we feel might be helpful at this time.
Also, for those visiting here who have a faith connection, I have included a copy of our second email sent on Friday 27th March which gives information on how we might access online church services and opportunities for reflection. Click the icon at the foot of the page.
I hope that you will find the information here helpful and relevant – please email me if you wish to suggest other resources that may be useful at this time.
The email text from 20th March…
Not many, if any, of us would have been able to accurately predict, even two weeks ago, just how different the world of business would be today.
- Requests to work from home or to self-isolate
- People told to change their behaviours with a direct effect on their ability to participate in normal life and spend money
- Certain businesses concerned about their viability as they are instructed to close
- Increased stress and anxiety for many, be they manager or employee, as they try to balance work, childcare, and everyday life
business matters seeks to support you in your life, both work and personal
In these challenging times, people can feel isolated and alone and find it difficult to communicate – in a small way business matters would like to offer help.
I have already received an email from one of our network, in self isolation themselves, but offering a link to information that people may find helpful in clearing their thinking about how to deal with business challenges. That information is within a condensed version of “The Profits Principles” and I have permission to give you access to it using this link.
We have, within the resources section of our website, many reports of talks given at our CPD events over the years – perhaps four, in particular, may offer some relevant information at this time
- The Psychology of Positively Handling Uncertainty
- Beyond the Work Life Balance Myth
- Developing Resilience
- Lone Working, Freelancing and Self Employment
On our Facebook page, we will be posting short videos which we have on Mental Health – keep an eye out for these
If any of you have particular ideas/insights/material which you would like to share across the network then please email me and we will investigate how we can pass this on.
Many of you will know that business matters was set up in 2006 by a group of Christians and we believe that it is right to let you know that we are praying over this whole situation, as are thousands of others across the country.
If you have a faith then pray with us, if it’s something you struggle with then be assured of our thoughts and support at this time.
